My Doubting Nature

After seeing many hummingbirds coming in and out of the trees, my eyes still drawn to the nest from last year. The last i saw nothing was done to repair it so i being impatient thought in disappointment it would not be used again according to "Natures Law". I had found some others very well hidden, always close to the end of the branches. Mother Nature takes her time, sometimes millions of years to complete one of her projects. Who am i to be so impatient or doubt. A few days ago as i was walking by the old nest, i seen a "refurbishing" going on, to my delight. Today there were two eggs in the nest as per "Natures Law", so tiny, the eggs look like little jelly belly's, 1/2 inches each. The nest is about 1 1/2 inches in depth and 2 inches in circumference. I took this picture extremely close as the mother came to see what i thought i was doing, but not as angry as i thought she would be..well after all i do "cook" her meals. They love the nectar i make and always come very close to my face to let me know when it has run out hence i forget to keep it full. Although they like the flower and vine nectar they must like "home" cooking. Such a joy to watch as this process goes on until the hatching and fledging.
