Chapters

I create chapters
in my book of life
some good some
no so much
These chapters or
memories will continue
as long as i am
The book will be
exciting only to me
not to be handed
down as it would
mean nothing to
anyone else

Wonders

As we try to understand
the complex world we live
in, we have wonders,
everything has it's wonders
even darkness and silence
more wonders in this universe
than you could ever have dreamt
Are the wonders you seek within
yourself?
Wonders are the seed of our science
we can always reclaim our sense of
wonder

Wonderful Thoughts

A picture sent to me
memories flooded
my mind, such good
memories.
The picture was of my
teen years, the Pike
a place where you
could go just to
hang out with friends
no worries about being
afraid at night there
not then. The picture
was of the Cyclone Racer
a roller coaster, huge made
of wood. As i looked at
it seemed so much larger
now than i remember.
The lights of bright colors
brought back so many
good times. As i stared
at the picture lost in
thought
It is no longer there, torn
down to make way for
progress, but in my mind
it will always be there

A fleeting Thought

As I venture outside the cold
seems to take my breath away
far to many days the frigid
temperature tries to keep me
in the stuffy warmth.
I drive along with the sun in
my face, warmth coming
from the windshield, my mind
can not keep me from the
warm days of summer. Out
for early morning walks,
tending my yard with loving
care, the birds and nature alive,
happy in the warmth even hot
days. The sun on my body feeding
me, giving me energy. Then as
fast as the thought came, it had
to go as I had to get out again
into the cold and leave it for
another day

Hourglass

Watching the sand in the hourglass
as it silently trickles away
seeing time slip through my fingers
as quickly as the days go
looking at each grain of sand
as a tiny piece of time
to small to be measured
turned upside down
to continue its
journey
